Proposal Submission Requirements:
Before sending a submission, please check to make sure your project matches the subjects on which we publish. We do not publish fiction with the exception of alternate history. We prefer to receive a query letter or a formal proposal before seeing the entire manuscript. No manuscripts will be considered without an accompanying proposal.
A query should provide a one-to-two-page synopsis of the project and the author's credentials. A formal proposal should consist of the following items:
- A one-to-two-page synopsis
- A table of contents or a rough outline of the manuscript's structure
- One or two sample chapters
- Reviews of any previous books
- A biographical sketch or vita
- Thoughts on the target audience
- Comparisons with any similar books
Proposals are accepted only via email. Please attach your materials using Microsoft Word, 1997-2003 compatible (with a "doc" extension, not "docx"). Do not use PDFs for your manuscript, proposal, or vita. PDFs are acceptable only for previously published writing samples such as journal articles. Please ensure that there are no embedded photos in your MS Word manuscript, sample chapters, or proposal. Any photos or illustrations should be sent as separate attachments. Thank you!

approval. There is a limit of three titles per request.
Please submit your request on your departmental or institutional letterhead
with the following information:
- Book title
- ISBN
- Name of course
- Projected enrollment
- Start date
Also include your:
- Departmental/institutional email address
- Office and/or home telephone number
Please notify us if you plan to use one or more of our titles in your course.

Permissions

author, pages to be reproduced and for what purpose. Please include a retail
cost of reproduced materials if applicable.
